Arsenal supporters have backed club-record signing Nicolas Pepe after Chelsea fans attempted to mock the Ivorian.
The 24-year-old has struggled in the Premier League since completing a £72 million move from Lille, scoring once in 10 appearances.
That effort came from the spot in the 3-2 win over Aston Villa, and his failure to make an instant impact at the Emirates has allowed rival fans to mock the wide man.
Chelsea fan account @BillyGilmourSZN shared this statistic comparing Pepe to Blues youngster Mason Mount, who has shone under Frank Lampard this season.

This allowed Gunners parody account @Aubazettes to hit back with this brilliant reply, stating former Chelsea defender David Luiz has scored more goals than £58 million man Christian Pulisic.

And these Arsenal fans were quick to join in with the defence of Pepe by mocking Pulisic’s Stamford Bridge start.

Both Pepe and Pulisic would’ve been hoping to make a greater impact in the opening months of the campaign.
Yes, Pepe has played more minutes than Pulisic, but that says a lot about the American’s performances in training if he is failing to even get on the pitch.
The pair look destined to be a success at their respective clubs, and with Pepe coming off the back of a goalscoring performance for Ivory Coast, he could start to find his feet at the Emirates in the coming weeks.
He was always going to need time, but Arsenal fans will be expecting to see more from the 24-year-old before the year is up.
