Arsenal’s top-four hopes took a massive dent after they played out of the park by Leicester City in a 3-0 defeat at the King Power Stadium.
The Gunners played an hour of this game with 10 men, after Ainsley Maitland-Niles committed two bookable offences to be sent off at the 37th minute mark.
Regardless of the sending off, the home side were dominant in the first half and Arsenal had to rely on Bernd Leno to make some crucial saves.
The deadlock was eventually broken around the hour mark, when Youri Tielemans made a late run in the box and remained to unmarked to head home from James Maddison’s cross.
Jamie Vardy made it 2-0 in the 86th minute, when a long ball up top wasn’t dealt by the Arsenal defenders, giving two bites at the cherry for the striker to score.
The Leicester scored again, this time with the last kick of the game to send the home fans into frenzy and the away fans into disbelief.
This result keeps Arsenal in fifth position, now vulnerable to drop to sixth if Manchester United beat Chelsea later on.
