Inter leading the race to sign Arsenal target Herrera

Serie A giants Inter Milan are leading the race for the signature of FC Porto midfielder Hector Herrera, according to a report on Talksport.

Arsenal have been keeping a close eye on Herrera’s situation and are understood to be keen on bringing the player to the Emirates.

North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked with a move for the Mexican, whose contract with the Portuguese club expires at the end of the season.

Reports in Italy are suggesting that Inter have already held discussions with the player and his representatives.

Inter want to agree on a pre-contract with Herrera in January before other clubs have a chance to discuss a move with the player.

The 28-year-old midfielder is unlikely to sign a new deal at Porto, where he has been impressive ever since he joined the club in 2013.
