Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has hinted that Alexis Sanchez’s move to Manchester United is motivated by money and not silverware, according to a report on the Telegraph.
The Chilean international forward is expected to be announced as a Manchester United player within the next 48 hours after agreeing a move, with his Arsenal contract due to expire in the summer.

The forward had six months remaining on his Gunners deal and the north London club tried their best to offer him an attractive new deal, but Sanchez wanted to move.
This is something that Wenger can’t understand, admitting that the only explanation can behind the deal is money, stating:
I cannot understand anybody wanting to leave Arsenal. But in 30 years of doing transfers, you learn a lot about human beings. As a professional, it was perhaps his last contract at the top level and an important contract.
We did what we tried to do and went as far as we could (with money). Even Manchester City moved out of it in the end. That tells you we had no chance to give him a contract.
Sanchez will reportedly earn £14 million-a-year after tax at Old Trafford and Wenger has admitted that Arsenal could not match the spending power on wages that United could do.
Wenger is happy to be signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan in return for Sanchez and believes that the Arsenal dressing room will be a lot happier now that his future has been resolved.
