Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that he believes Mesut Ozil is in the best form of his Arsenal career at the moment after he struck the winner against Newcastle on the weekend, speaking to the Mirror.
The Arsenal playmaker could possibly leave the club on a free transfer next summer but Wenger has not given up hope of persuading him to sign a new and improved contract extension at the north London club.

The German attacking midfielder has reportedly been offered £275,000-a-week wages to keep him at the club and Wenger believes that he is worthy of that amount of money due to his current form.
Ozil is yet to respond to the contract offer and has been linked with a move to fellow Premier League side Manchester United, where he could re-unite with former manager and close friend Jose Mourinho.
However, Wenger is adamant that Ozil will stay at the Emirates.
I believe he (Ozil) wants to stay. But at the moment it is very difficult to say. He is mature, he guides the team, they are aware he is on the ball a lot — always your heart rate goes down when he has the ball.
Not only his goal but I would say more important is the quality and the influence he has on the collective game.
Arsenal face Liverpool next on Friday night and Ozil is expected to play a key role in the outcome of the match.
