Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has given advice to Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino on how to win trophies as a manager, as per a report on Sky Sports.
The Arsenal boss has said that their north London rivals need to overcome their “fear” of failure.
Since Pochettino took over at Spurs, the club have been on the up and finished above Arsenal in the Premier League for the first time in Wenger’s 21-year reign at the Gunners.
However, Spurs have failed to win a trophy since their League Cup success back in 2008.
When asked how Spurs could win trophies, Wenger said:
By keeping your nerves and getting the players to focus on what is important.
At some stages, by fighting a little bit against your inhibitions – the fear that you won’t get over the line. Basically you need to focus on what is important and not focus on the trophy too much.
The Gunners face their London rivals on Saturday and Wenger has hit back at those saying that Spurs are now a superior side to his.
The Frenchman believes that Arsenal have not been focusing on the rise of Spurs, rather they have been more concerned about their own progress over the last couple of years.
