As the season comes to a close, the usual summer transfer talk begins. One of the teams usually at the forefront of the summer transfer chatter is Arsenal.
It has been an incredibly disappointing campaign for the Gunners. Before the season began, many looked at the team and had high hopes for a title. As we entered the new year, however, Arsenal accounted the same problems we have seen over the last few years – namely poor defensive play.
With the new TV deal coming into play next season, this summer is set to become a battleground for clubs trying to sign players. As many have argued, Arsenal must spend well in the transfer market this year, or the club could well be left behind. Having only signed Petr Cech last year, the club needs to address certain key positions this summer, chiefly a centre back, holding midfielder, and a striker.
