Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has argued that if his side can beat Hull City on Saturday afternoon, it will set them up perfectly for the visit of Barcelona.
The Gunners face Hull in the FA Cup fifth round at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon, before welcoming Luis Enrique’s treble winners Barcelona on Tuesday evening in the UEFA Champions League round of 16.
Despite the prospect of facing Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Neymar and co., Wenger, when asked if he already had an eye on the La Liga giants, confirmed, as reported by the club’s official website, that he was only thinking about the visit of Steve Bruce’s side.

Not really, no. I consider the FA Cup being an opportunity to see some players who have not played recently, like Elneny. It has been decided that Ospina will play so it’s just a coincidence. For me it’s an important game. The best way to prepare for Barcelona is to beat Hull tomorrow. If we don’t do that then we put ourselves in a very bad position to prepare for Hull. The momentum is important and we have to show that mentally we are capable of winning by focusing on every single game.

The north London side will have played at the Emirates three times in a row by the end of Tuesday evening, with their last game away from home the 2-0 win over Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.
Wenger’s side welcome the Tigers to the Emirates in the FA Cup for the second consecutive season, having beaten them last season in the third round.
