Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is confident that goals will be scored, despite the current drought his side is enduring.
The north London giants have not scored in their last three Premier League games and should they fail to bag a strike against Bournemouth on Sunday afternoon, put themselves at risk of equalling their longest ever run without a goal in England’s top division.
Former Arsenal player and current Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson claimed that Wenger could regret not buying a striker if the likes of Olivier Giroud were to pick up an injury.
Wenger, however, as reported by the club’s official website, claimed his beliefs that people are ‘entitled to their opinions’ and that goals will be scored, because his side are creating enough chances.

I have to accept that everybody can have different opinions.
You cannot praise the quality of our strikers and on the other hand say that it is a mistake that we have not bought any strikers.
We have Alexis, we have Walcott, we have Giroud, we have Welbeck and I can’t see any stronger striker being on the market in the January transfer window.
I felt we were a bit nervous in the last two home games, against Chelsea and Southampton – we didn’t come out of the blocks like we would have liked.
We played at Stoke, we played a 0-0 what was not a shame because they are quite strong at home. Against Chelsea we played with 10 men and that makes the game against a good side very difficult.
Against Southampton, we created the chances and couldn’t finish them off. I believe overall, we should not be alarmed because the quality of our performance was there in every single game.
We should take a lot of encouragement from that, even if sometimes in the recent games, we didn’t get the result we wanted.
We have to prepare without being obsessed with [scoring] – finishing is cyclic and if we create the same amount of chances we will score.

The Gunners face Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Sunday looking to regain ground in their bid for Premier League glory, which would be their first since the 2003/04 Invincibles triumph, and the first trophy that would be lifted at the Emirates Stadium.
