Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger believes that Chinese football teams can become a ‘major force’ in the transfer window, which could rival the spending power of the likes of English and Spanish sides.
A number of top European stars have made big-money moves to China in recent weeks, including Liverpool and Chelsea linked Alex Teixeira -, who was sold for upwards of £35m and will earn in the region of a reported £185,000-per-week deal over four seasons.
Wenger, however, as reported by the Mail Online, admitted he is unsure if the Chinese will sustain their ‘enthusiasm’ for spending such large amounts of money, but isn’t worried for the competitive level of football in England and the rest of Europe.

Yes, of course [they can become a major force], because China looks to have the financial power to move a whole league of players from Europe to China.
It is economic power and they have it. Will they sustain their enthusiasm? I don’t know. I don’t know how deep the desire is. If it’s a very strong political desire we should worry.
I believe any wave inflation is on our shores because of the new TV deal. I am sure the £100m target will be easy to reach.

The likes of Jackson Martinez, Teixeira and Ramires have all made the move to China, while it’s believed that John Terry, Robin van Persie and Yaya Toure all have huge offers to join those overseas.
