Wenger discusses his Arsenal future

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has claimed that he is ‘completely committed’ to the club.

Talks have been rife about the Frenchman’s future, with him reportedly closing in on a new long-term contract at the club, beyond 2017.

Wenger has two years left on his current deal, but, as reported by the club’s official website, confirmed that he has not thought about extending his deal as yet, with the current campaign his only focus.

You know that 18 months for a manager today is an eternity.

I am completely focused on doing well and I want to give absolutely everything until the end of the season. Then I want to go through the next season.

The experienced manager then went on to speak about managing elsewhere, and admitted that although he is completely committed to the job at Arsenal, he would not rule out working in another capacity.

Not really, no [I don’t want to manage elsewhere]. I completely commit to this club and I don’t imagine managing anywhere else at the moment. Will I stop working once I stop managing on a competitive level? No. I will always try to work if I have hands and try to be useful at some stage and some level. Maybe it will be a different level but I will always work.

Wenger did, however, rule out the presidential role with Fifa.

I could be managing kids, developing young players, it can be all kinds of roles but I will not run for FIFA, you can count on that.

Arsenal face Burnley this weekend at the Emirates Stadium, with the home side having not lost in the competition for over two years, winning England’s biggest cup competition in both the 2013/14 and 14/15 seasons.
