Arsenal have been given an extra boost ahead of the new year, as experienced midfielder Mikel Arteta has made his return to full training after a spell on the sidelines due to his chronic calf condition.
Arteta picked up another niggling injury during his side’s defeat to West Brom last month, in which he scored an own goal in, but has made his return to action for the new year.
The 33-year-old is certainly not the first name on the team sheet for boss Arsene Wenger, however due to Arsenal’s injury-struck midfield, the return of Arteta is a welcome one.

Arsenal will be happy to see their midfield options becoming stronger in the coming weeks with Arteta’s return and the potential arrival of Basel midfielder Mohamed Elneny coming soon.
Calum Chambers and Mathieu Flamini have been filling the void that has been left due to the injuries of Santi Cazorla, Francis Coquelin and Arteta, but the return of the Spaniard is sure to be a boost.
