Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been the latest to sing the praises of in-form midfielder Mesut Ozil, after his glittering performances as of late.
The German international has racked up a simply incredible 13 assists so far in the Premier League for the Gunners in just 15 appearances for the side this campaign.
Before this season, Ozil was yet to show his true qualities in an Arsenal shirt after a fairly underwhelming start to life in England since his £42.4m move from Real Madrid, however, it is safe to say that the midfield maestro is enjoying some of the best football of his career to date.
Ozil is the main provider in our team and in the league. He has 13 assists in the league. Players who can make you score are very difficult to find and have something special on the vision front and on the technical quality.
The German has been crucial in Arsenal’s rise up the table this season as Arsene Wenger’s men find themselves behind only Leicester City in second place.
The 27-year-old added another accolade to his already impressive season so far recently also, becoming the first ever player to create at least one goal in seven consecutive Premier League appearances.
That is what Mesut is about. But he is also about, and people forget this many times, in his way [he is] an exceptional fighter. He runs much more and covers the distances during the game.
He has added runs into the box now. You watch how many times he’s in the box compared to what he did before. I think he has become an absolutely unbelievable player.
Ozil will be hoping to turn in yet another outstanding display as Arsenal prepare to face Manchester City in a huge match on Monday night.
