Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed the latest team news in his pre-match news conference prior to Sunday afternoon’s trip to Villa Park, where the Gunners will take on former player Remi Garde’s struggling Aston Villa side.
The Frenchman claimed that while there were no new injury worries for the north London side to be concerned about after the triumphant 3-0 victory in Greece against Olympiacos, no one would be returning to the squad just yet.

We came back Thursday morning, so we will see the players today. We have no injuries after the game.
Wenger then confirmed that both Mikel Arteta and Alexis Sanchez were close to returning to match action, although neither would be ready for Sunday’s trip.

[They are] short-term injuries, neither will be available for Sunday. No Arteta and no Alexis – who is the shortest one. The others will be [available] after Christmas.
Speaking on Jack Wilshere, Wenger revealed that he would have ‘no chance’ of a return prior to the end of 2015.
If you ask me if he will be fit before the end of December, no chance.

There was some good news regarding long-term absentee Tomas Rosicky, however, with Wenger revealing the Czech international has begun running and will be back in action late next month.
He is quite positive. He is running outside but not ready yet. End of January.
