Arsenal have confirmed that the club’s youth product, Harry Donovan, has left the club and joined League One side Millwall.

At 17-years-old, Donovan signed his scholarship with the Gunners in the summer of 2014, going on to make over 30 appearances for both the u18s and 19s. Having been unable to force his way into both the U21 and first team pictures, he was forced to leave the club in search of career progression.

The English youngster is a central midfielder who operates in a deep-lying central midfielder position similar to that of 30-year-old Spain international Santi Cazorla.

Donovan trained with the first team last season ahead of the sides disappointing home fixture against Monaco, where the away side ran away 3-1 victors. The 17-year-old made one appearance in the UEFA Youth League, against Galatasaray as he was brought on as a substitute late in the game.

With Donovan joining the Lions, he will be hoping to earn a professional contract with the club.
